That's the question a lot lately emerged. The emergence of these questions triggered by the number of times the release of Microsoft applications on other platforms first and then later presented in WP. For example, recently they released Snipp3t - an application for memfollow artist information. Instead released on Windows Phone, Microsoft even release it on iOS. WP users so began to wonder: even Microsoft began to participate ignore-user Windows Phone ??
In addition to cast doubt, it also provoked anger some WP users who feel abandoned. This is evident from the discussion in the Reddit AMA Snipp3t Program Manager .
In response to the reactions Snipp3t program manager Donald Soon clarification. He explained that the project is hackanton Snipp3t day, which is a project that is done in his spare time with limited resources. Team Snipp3t assume that for this kind of application, iOS is the best platform to do a test market. Therefore, they focus all resources owned Snipp3t to release iOS version only.
Soon Donald also explained that under CEO Satya Nadella of Microsoft is no longer Windows centric, meaning doing things they no longer have to completely put Windows or Windows. Soon Donald promised that if this application is well received by the market, then it is not likely they will develop for other platforms - including the WP.
Despite these clarifications can be understood, but the behavior still remains a disappointment for some developers and users of Windows Phone. Several other questions also arise in their minds:
  • If the Microsoft team to develop apps just refuse to WP and promote it, why should we do it learns to suck?
  • If the Microsoft team only admitted if IOS is a better platform to market applications - and prefer that platform rather than WP, why do we have to painstakingly develop and market apps in WP?
  • If the Microsoft team just does not give priority to the WP, why should we do it?
Although Microsoft does not want to be a Windows-centric, but at least they should show that they do not treat users of WP as a stepchild. Things like this does look simple, but if done continuously can make Microsoft's lost the confidence of developers and consumers.
